President Maithripala Sirisena says that he was devoted towards bring up economical and societal prosperity to the public eradicating poverty.
A number of programs were implemented accordingly and and even if the results are immediately felt by the farmer community, they will get benifits gradually, the President said while addressing a program held in Polonnaruwa Madirigiriya,today (1).First the President unveiled the carbonic fertilizing centre operated through mechine built in Sungalwila area under the objective of making the Madirigiriya Lankapura areas free of garbage. This centre made under the funds of Jaica would recycle 50 tons of garbage per day and 20 tons of composte fertilizers will be produced.The total cost for this would be Rs.230 million and the project would be carried on within 9 districts in the future.
The president who unveiled the commemration plaque and commenced operations at the carbonic fertilizer centere. He also went on an observational visit to see the recycling proccess of garbage.Chief incumbent of Somawathy Raja Maha Vihara Ven.Pahamunr Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thero,Japanese Ambassodar for Sri Lanka Akira Sujiyama,and representatives of Jaica organization,North Central Province Governor Sarath Ekanayake,Mayor of Polonnaruw district Chanaka Sidath Ranasighe,Chief Secretary A.M.P. Ranasighe,Secretary of district Panduka Abeywardhana,President of Lankapura Pradeshiya Sabha W.M.S.G.B. Wijesighe,were present in this event.Meanwhile the Bisopura new Mahaweli tourist housing built spending Rs. 58 million was opened by the President.Then the President unveiled project for training the Mahaweli Farmer settlers about climatic changes and
vested those projects with the public.Under the motive for uplifting the societal entreprenurial development of farmer settlers of Madirigiriya new development region, these projects are being conducted by the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and environment with the assistance of United Nations World Food program and the United Nations Development Program.
The Mahaweli Athsalu Piyasa Mahaweli Apparal and Mahaweli Ornamental Fishery Centeran and Mahaweli fauna and flora centers were unveiled by the President.
Then he presented land deeds for the Mahaweli land owners, presented irrigational equipments to farmers. Symbolizing the distribution of houses for low income families, the President handed over 13 houses to New owners.
President who addressed the audience further mentioned that,one of the key factors in building this country is building the farmer community to strengthen the ecenomy and providing solutions for the problem of water faced by many farmers.Governor of North Central Province Sarath Ekanayake,Secretary of Mahaweli Development and Enviorament Anura Dissanayake,Director General of Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority D.M.S.Dissanayake,District Secratary of Polonnaruwa Panduka Abeywardhana,Mayor Chanaka Sidath Ranasighe,former provicial council minister Samapth Sri Nilantha and other and other were present in this event.
