President Maithripala Sirisena declared open the newly built two storied Mandiraya at the Pelpola Vipassi Foundation yesterday (March 4).
The new Mandiraya was built to mark the birth anniversary of the President of Japan – Sri Lanka Cultural Friendship Association, Chief Incumbent of the International Pelpola Buddhist Viharaya and the Chief Sangha Nayaka in Japan Ven. Pelpola Vipassi Thero.
The President who arrived in the Pelpola Vipassi Foundation engaged in religious activities. After that he unveiled the plaque and opened the new four storied Mandiraya.
He extended birthday wishes to Ven. Vipassi Thero who rendered great service for the country, Buddha Shasana and the people who live in the area.
Maha Nayaka of Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha Dr. Ven. Iththepane Dhammalankara Thero and the Maha Sangha and Minister Ravi Karunanayake also participated in this ceremony.
