President pays floral tribute to Samadhi Buddha statue brought from Myanmar

President Maithripala Sirisena paid the first floral tribute to the marble Samadhi Buddha statue brought from Myanmar today (Aug. 25) at the President’s Official Residence.

The Samadhi Buddha statue, donated by Mr. Jayantha Rajakaruna, who lives in Myanmar, will be taken to Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi temple in Anuradhapura.

After the floral tribute, the procession to take the Buddha statue to Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi temple in Anuradhapura commenced.

Chief Incumbent of Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi temple in Anuradhapura, Chief Sangha Nayaka of the North and Central Provinces Ven. Nugathenne Pagnananda Thero was present on this occasion.
