President Maithripala Sirisena says he will take the country to the path of victory progressively through an effective process accepting criticisms and allegations thankfully.
He made these remarks participating in a cordial meeting with various organizations and trade unions, who actively supported the common candidate election campaign, held at the President’s House, yesterday (13).
During the meeting, the President expressed his gratitude to all those who committed themselves to make the much needed political transformation in the country by supporting him as the common candidate to win the Presidential election. He also said that he will take the country to the victory path by giving room for their comments and suggestions in the future as well.
“If the pledges given in the election manifesto could be fulfilled within a 24 hours, I am ready to do so with a single signature,” the President said that adding that such a thing was not possible. Considering the economic crisis before the country and the international situation we should carry on this journey slowly, with patience and discipline.
The President further said that his ambition is to move forward in the journey of the consensual government to fulfill the people’s expectations for a changes and to resolve the issues through discussions.
