A ceremony to cut the first clod of the Polduwa – Udumulla road to be built to make the transport system efficient in the administrative town of Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte, was held today (Oct. 31) under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The first clod was cut by the Minister of Mega-police and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka. This new road project will cost Rs.316 million. This is carried out by the Metropolitan Development Authority and the Road Development Authority, under the guidance of Minister Ranawaka.
Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Chief Minister of Western Province Isuru Dewapriya and former Mayor of Kaduwela G. H. Buddhadasa were present at this occasion.
