A lifetime commitment to create a country with absolute reconciliation – President

President Maithripala Sirisena stated that it is essential to build a society without racial or ethnic barriers where all live in peace and harmony.

It is his dream and in order to accomplish it, he will mobilize all the people and make a life time sacrifice, said the President, addressing a public rally held in Ampara, Attachchenai, yesterday (30).

A large crowd gathered at this event, irrespective of racial and ethnic barriers, where the President received a warm welcome from participants.

The President stated that he will fulfill the faith and confidence placed on him by all the people on January 8th 2015, without racial or ethnic differences.

The country must confirm peace in order to create prosperity, and in order to accomplish that goal, reconciliation is important to all the people and every religion.

It is his expectation to grant the benefits of development to the people, said the President stating that after the victory of February 10th election, he will personally attend to the development programs conducted in rural areas.

The rally was organized in order to confirm the victory of the candidates from Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) led by the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in Ampara district.

Former Minister A. L. M. Athaullah, member of Provincial Council, Uduma Lebbe, Ahmed Zaki, K. L. Ubaidulla, including SLFP Provincial councilors of Ampara District, Governor of Eastern Province, Rohitha Bogollagama, State Minister A. H. M. Fowzie, Sriyani Wijewickrama M P, and others were present in the meeting.
