Interim report of Presidential Commission of inquiry into the alleged acts of corruption & fraud in Govt. institutions handed over to the President

The interim report of the Presidential Commission of inquiry into the alleged acts of corruption, fraud, criminal breach of trust, criminal misappropriation of property, cheating and abuse or misuse of power or authority, state resources and privileges during the period of January 15, 2015 to December 31, 2018 was handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat, today (06).

The report was presented to the President by the Chairman of the Commission retired Supreme Court judge Upali Abeyrathne and the other members of the Commission were also present on this occasion.

The Commission is empowered to call for and receive public complaints, information and other material and conduct prompt, impartial, comprehensive investigations and inquiries into them.

It is expected to submit the final report of the Commission within six months.
