President Maithripala Sirisena arrived in London Wednesday evening (May 11) to participate in the Anti- Corruption Summit – 2016 commencing tomorrow in the British capital.
The President was received at the Heathrow Airport by Queen’s special representative Bruce Holder, who is the Deputy Lieutenant to Queen Elizabeth and Kathryn Colvin, Special Representative of the Ministry of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and the officials of the Sri Lanka High Commission including the Acting High Commissioner Mr.Sugeeshwara Gunaratna.
President Sirisena is attending the Anti-Corruption Summit on the invitation of the British Prime Minister David Cameron. He is scheduled to address the summit today (12).
President Maithripala Sirisena addressing the summit will apprise the world leaders regarding the steps taken by the new Government to eliminate the fraud and corruption from the country.
He is also scheduled to attend a Breakfast hosted by the British Prime for all who attend the summit.
