Public exposition of sacred tooth relics of Polonnaruwa Gal Vihara opened by the President

The public exposition of sacred tooth relics was opened at Polonnaruwa Gal Vihara by President Maithripala Sirisena.

This sacred relic arrived from the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre, Kandy, the sacred relics of the hair and bone of the Buddha and the sacred relics of Maha Arahaths enshrined at the Sri Sakya Singha Suganda Kutiya were opened for the public worship.

Asgiri Gedige Viharawasi Ven. Pallewela Rathanapala Thero conducted the religious rituals.

President at Nelligala International Buddhist Centre Ven. Waturakumbure Dhammaratana Thero delivered a special sermon.

Chief Prelate of Alahara Bakamuna region, Ven Liyangaswagure Devananda Thero and other mahasangha were present at the event.

Chairmen of the Polonnaruwa Municipal Council Chanaka Sidath Ranasighe, Chaturika Sirisena and others were also present in this event.

“Pulathisi Poson Udanaya” will be held on 27, 28, 29 and 30th of June centered on historic Gal Viharaya.
