Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (20).
During the meeting the Indian External Affairs Minister extended an invitation to President to visit India.
“I was pleased to welcome Dr. S. Jaishankar as envoy of Indian Premier Shri Narendra Modi and was honored to accept his invitation to visit India as my first overseas visit and to strengthen the relationship and discuss key aspects of regional security, peace, and economic development” President Rajapaksa said via Facebook.
“A warm meeting was held with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of a partnership for shared peace, progress, prosperity and security. Confident that under his leadership, Indo- Lanka relations would reach greater heights”, Dr. Jaishankar tweeted.
